Chez Constance

In the heart of the Ainay quartier in Lyon

Chez Constance

In the heart of the Ainay quartier in Lyon, which has a village feel thanks to the attractive 19th century buildings bordered by the Rhône,
interior architect Constance Laurand is completely revamping a lovely family apartment. On the to-do list : improve ‘flow’, dynamize and reveal its generous proportions, create a play of perspectives and ‘reveals’, redistribute functions and rejig the floor plan. Here, the play of colours – a complex palette of around fifteen tones – is in dialogue with the building’s ancient woodwork, mouldings and superb parquet floor, creating a space which is at once living, rhythmic and soft, bringing the perfect touch of modernity to reveal the soul of the place … an idyllic setting in which to showcase the Ligne Roset collection …

The salon boasts a magnificent 19th century parquet floor, a coffered ceiling and some very beautiful woodwork, which Constance has chosen to reveal for several reasons, not least for its contrast with the contemporary furniture.
